An Interesting Beech Tree
There was a beech tree within the wider grounds which was noted as interesting due to patches of stem exudation and black staining to the main stem.
This required a more detailed inspection by our team which included an aerial inspection, decay detection and a lateral flow test.
The decay detection investigation of this beech using our PiCUS Sonic Tomography equipment was to provide insights into the structural condition of the main stem. And the lateral flow test for Phytophthora was taken from patches of dysfunctional bark of the lower main stem.
